Marine oil spills refers to oil that is released into the ocean and include among others releases of crude oil from tankers and heavier fuels used by large ships such as bunker fuel, or the spill of any oily refuse or waste oil.

Spills may take months or even years to clean up.

The ODME systems are responsible for keeping the environment clean and safe from the hydrocarbons contained in the waste waters of the ship’s slop tanks.

Those hydrocarbons are collected inside the slops tanks during the washing procedure of the cargo tanks. So when the ship is discharging the waste water contained inside the slop tanks back to the sea, the Oil Discharge Monitoring Equipment (ODME) makes sure - by continuous and on line monitoring - that the water discharged back to the sea is clean and free of any Hydrocarbons.

DP Transmitter

The Differential Pressure Transmitter is the first major part of the ODME Flow meter System. Its principle of operation is to convert the pressure received from the Pitot Tube to electrical current.

The second major part of the ODME flow meter is the Pitot tube and the third Part is the Zener Barrier. We are offering our full range of DP transmitters, which are suitable for all ODME systems as well as for other pressure applications.
